Care Instructions

Built to last. A little care goes a long way.

Why Stainless Steel?

We chose 304/316 stainless steel because it is strong, durable, and well suited for everyday wear. It is resistant to tarnishing and corrosion, and is generally gentle on sensitive skin. With a little care, your Knightbloom piece can be enjoyed for years to come.

Daily Wear

Your Knightbloom piece is made to be worn and lived in. A few simple habits will help keep it looking its best.

After wearing your piece, gently wipe it with a soft, dry cloth to remove any oils or moisture left behind by your skin. This helps keep the finish clean and prevents buildup from collecting within the weave over time.

Cleaning

For a more thorough cleaning, gently rinse your piece under warm running water. If needed, use a small amount of mild dish soap and carefully work it through the weave with your fingertips.

Rinse thoroughly, then gently pat the piece dry with a soft cloth. Allow it to dry completely before putting it away.

Avoid harsh chemical cleaners, bleach, and abrasive polishing cloths. These can dull or damage the finish of your jewelry.

What to Avoid

Although stainless steel is wonderfully durable, there are a few things it is best to keep away from your jewelry.

Remove your piece before swimming in pools or the ocean, during workouts where it will be exposed to heavy sweat, and when using harsh cleaning products.

It is also best to avoid spraying perfume, hairspray, or sunscreen directly onto your jewelry. These products can leave residue within the weave. Applying them to your skin first and allowing them to dry before putting on your jewelry is the easiest way to keep your piece clean.

Prolonged exposure to chlorine and saltwater can also affect the surface of stainless steel, so giving your jewelry a break before taking a dip will help keep it looking beautiful.

Storage

When you are not wearing your Knightbloom piece, keep it somewhere clean and dry.

For long term storage, keep your jewelry away from direct sunlight and areas with excess moisture.

If you have more than one piece, storing them separately will help prevent tangling and keep the surfaces from rubbing against one another.

Freshwater Pearl Care

Some Knightbloom pieces incorporate freshwater pearls, which are a natural material and require a little extra consideration.

Pearls are sensitive to acids, chemicals, and prolonged moisture. Avoid exposing pearl pieces to perfume, hairspray, sunscreen, or any cleaning products. It is best to put your pearl jewelry on last, after applying any products, and to take it off first before washing your hands or showering.

To clean, gently wipe the pearls with a soft, slightly damp cloth. No soaking, no soap. Allow the piece to air dry completely before storing. Keep pearl pieces away from other jewelry that could scratch their surface, and store them in a soft pouch or cloth away from direct sunlight.

With the right care, freshwater pearls will hold their natural lustre for years to come.

Untangling the Weave

Chainmail has a mind of its own from time to time.

If your necklace becomes tangled or a few links feel stiff, lay it flat on a clean surface and gently work the links apart with your fingertips. Take your time and avoid pulling or forcing the weave, as doing so can put unnecessary stress on the individual rings.

If a tangle refuses to cooperate or you are unsure how to handle it, reach out to us. We are always happy to help.
